US Veteran
Ronald “Ron” Kammerzelt – August 29, 1949 – October 1, 2026.
Ron was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, veteran, and community servant, passed away peacefully surrounded by those who loved him.
Ron was the beloved husband of Sherrie for 35 years. Together, they built a life filled with family, travel, service, hard work, and countless memories.
Ron dedicated much of his life to serving others. He was a Vietnam War veteran, who served his country from 1969 - 1971. He continued that spirit of service throughout his life as a volunteer with the Pleasant Prairie Fire Department, retired from Pleasant Prairie as the Utilities Supervisor, and served as a Town of Paris Supervisor. He was a man who believed in giving back to the community he called home and had a genuine heart for helping others.
Ron's desire to serve extended well beyond his own community. He participated in two mission trips, traveling to Africa and Argentina to help provide clean water to communities in need. These experiences reflected the compassion and generosity that were such an important part of who he was.
He was once a proud produce farmer who found great satisfaction in working the land. Ron loved his garden, which he kept meticulously cared for and always took great pride in. He enjoyed spending time tinkering in his barn, where one of his projects included restoring a vintage tractor. He could spend hours working with his hands, fixing, building, and bringing old things back to life.
Ron and Sherrie loved to travel and especially cherished time at their place in Door County, as well as their travels to Hawaii and Europe. Those times, along with countless family gatherings and everyday moments, created memories that will be treasured forever.
Above all, Ron was a family man. He was a loving husband to Sherrie and a devoted father and grandfather. His family was the center of his life, and he was deeply proud of each of them.
Ron is survived by his beloved wife, Sherrie; his daughters, Danielle Kammerzelt, Kelsey LeGault (Jacob), and Rachel Kammerzelt (Eric); and his son, Ronald Kammerzelt (Bernadette). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Noah Kammerzelt (Kelly) and Bailey Kammerzelt; his sister, Janet Petrick; and his brothers, Larry Kammerzelt (Linda) and Dennis Kammerzelt, along with many cherished friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Joyce Kammerzelt; his daughter, Stacie and his brother, Kenneth.
Ron will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his willingness to lend a hand, his love of the land, his adventurous spirit, and most of all, his heart for serving others. He leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and kindness that will continue through his family and the many lives he touched.
He will be deeply missed and forever loved.

October 10, 2026There are very few people you meet and instantly know they are good to the core. Ron was one of those people.
You could truly sense His love for life, the land, his wife, his children, his friends, family and for the country he served.
His loss cuts deep for all that knew and loved him.
Our Deepest heart-felt sympathy to Sherrie, the girls and the entire Kammerzelt family.

October 9, 2026I was so sad to hear this news, Sherrie. You had a wonderful husband, and I cannot imagine the sense of loss. Sometimes the least we can do is the most we can do and that is pray. I’ll be praying for you and your daughters in the days ahead. We will all miss Ron.

October 7, 2026Ron I miss you already, but I know you’re in glory now with your savior Jesus Christ. You were my closest friend and I will miss you. You served your country well and were a man of faith. You loved your wife like few can. And had a very special love for your children. The world has lost a very special man to a new address where there are no more tears or sorrows for eternal life. I’ll see you again brother.
