October 18, 1942 -
December 21, 2025

Richard (Dick) Charles Neu, 83, of Bristol, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at Hospice Alliance in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin.
Dick was born on October 18, 1942, in Kenosha, Wisconsin, the son of the late William and Rhea (Miller) Neu.
He graduated from Salem Central High School with the Class of 1960 and went on to earn a bachelor's degree in Education from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 1965. Dick later completed his Master of Arts degree at Roosevelt University in Chicago in 1969. He taught at Zion and Lake Forest Junior High Schools and later at Kenosha Technical Institute. He also built a successful second career as a realtor, working for 15 years with Century 21 and Bear Realty.
On June 17, 1967, Dick married Gail (Deltuva) Neu, with whom he shared a devoted and loving marriage for 58 years. Together they raised two sons, Scott Neu of Santa Monica, California, and Andrew Neu of Bristol, Wisconsin.
Dick was an avid follower of the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Bucks, and Milwaukee Brewers. He loved working on puzzles and playing cards, especially Euchre and Sheepshead, and enjoyed traveling-most notably trips to Las Vegas. Along with his longtime friend Bill, he became a local celebrity at Mader's Restaurant in downtown Milwaukee, where he enjoyed their Friday outings for over 30 years. To staff and regulars alike, they were affectionately known as "Mader's entertainers," bringing warmth, laughter, and a sense of continuity to everyone who had the good fortune to meet them at their regular seats which were engraved with their names.
Dick is survived by his beloved wife, Gail; his sons, Scott and Andrew; and his sisters, Darlene (Lee) Mich and Dolores (Marv) Drissel. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Rhea Neu.
Dick will be remembered as a dedicated educator, a hardworking professional, a loyal friend, and a loving husband, father, and brother. His warmth and humor will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Hospice Alliance in Pleasant Prairie for their care and compassion during his last days.
In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances to Richard Neu Scholarship, c/o Westosha Central High School, 24617 75th St., Salem Lakes, WI 53168, would be appreciated.
