
Nana Antwi Frimpong II

It is with the most reverent sympathy that we mourn the loss of Nana Antwi Frimpong (II), the esteemed former NifaHene of Akyem Aperade (Ghana, Africa), who left this world on Tuesday, January 20, 2025, at the age of 71. Born on February 24, 1953, in Akim Aperade to parents, Nana Yaw Badu Frimpong and Abena Amponsah. Frimpong, he lived a life of service to others.
On 22 May, 1980 he married Mary Brew in Accra,Ghana. Together they had many years of loving and caring for each other and building a family.
His legacy as a leader, mentor and service will resonate for generations to come. Of his many accolades, he is mostly remembered for legacy and dedication to serving his community.
A man of many talents, Nan enjoyed singing and cooking.
He is survived by his beloved spouse, Mary Yaa Asantewaa, and their six children: Patience Asiamah, Rebecca Ama Frimpong, Francis Frimpong, Paul Frimpong, Susana (Joseph Nii Ofel) Frimpong-Ribeiro, Nana Kojo Frimpong and Kwasi Amponsah Frimpong. He was a proud and adoring grandfather to Sheridan Ewald, Kezia Preko, Michelle Preko, Jeremiah Preko, Nana Akua Preko, Shiloh Asamoah, MaryAnn Naa, Darkoah Ribeiro, Nathan Nii Doodo Ribeiro, Ethan Nii Darko Ribeiro, Gabrielle Naa Dodua Ribeiro, and Nana Kwame Frimpong. He leaves behind a loving extended family, including his siblings; Faustina Kumiwaa Applah, Lawrence Frimpong, Leticia Frimpong, Faustina Ayimaa Frimpong, Agona Nyarkrom, Rockson Frimpong, and Paulina Abenaa Frimpomaa.
The family invites all who knew Nana Antwi Frimpong II to join them in honoring his remarkable life and the profound impact he had on those around him. His spirit will remain alive in the hearts of his family, friends, and community.
