Maralyn L. Stec, age 75 of Kenosha, passed away on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Casa del Maré at St. Catherine Commons.
Born on April 17, 1943; the daughter of the late Caradoc and Benigda “Peg” Rowlands. She attended local schools and graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School.
Maralyn married Leonard A. Stec on April 18, 1964 at St. James Catholic Church.
She worked in the registrar’s office at Carthage College and then at Abbott Laboratories, retiring after 20 years in the Benefits Department.
Maralyn was a loving wife; the best mother and doting grandmother who adored her grandchildren. She had a special love for her dog, Fonzie and her grand dogs, Maggie and Brian. As a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Maralyn was instrumental in heading up the festival raffle for many years. She volunteered at the public library; an incredible giving person who touched many lives. She loved being part of her friends group known as the “Animals”.
Maralyn is survived by her husband of 54 years, Lenny; her daughters, Susan (Michael) Wade and Cindi (John) Walther; her grandchildren, Zachary and Kyle Wade; Ashley, Abby and Amy Walther and her sister Pam Mattioda.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Charlene Deginan.
Service Info
Funeral services honoring Maralyn’s life will be held on Wednesday, November 21, 2018. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 7307 40th Avenue. Entombment will follow in All Saints Mausoleum.
