Lisa M. Summers (née Bonofiglio), age 55 of Kenosha, passed away on Monday, June 10, 2019, with her loving family by her side after enduring the effects of brain cancer for over 10 years.
Born in Kenosha on June 14, 1963, she was the daughter of Thomas and Carol Bonofiglio (née Norman).
She attended schools in Kenosha and was a 1981 graduate of Bradford High School. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from U.W. Milwaukee in 2001.
On June 16, 1984, she was married to Greggory S. Summers. Their union was blessed with a son, Colin.
Lisa was employed as a Registered Nurse with Children’s Hospital and was promoted to Patient Care Operations Manager. She previously was employed with Kenosha Unified School System.
She was a longtime member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
Lisa was an accomplished musician and she played the flute throughout her school years and with the Holy Rosary choir. She liked to help others and was a volunteer on the Kenosha Literacy Council.
She was an avid gardener and enjoyed frequent long walks by the lake.
Lisa is survived by her husband of 35 years; Gregg Summers; her son, Colin (Laura) Summers; her parents, Tom and Carol Bonofiglio; her grandchildren, Hazel, Graham and Jack; her siblings, Tom, Tony (Jodi), Armand and Brian Bonofiglio; and her loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents; her aunt, Clarice Norman; and her two uncles, Mario and Tony Bonofiglio.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to her special caregivers, Gina Bonn and her daughter, Rachael Kleinmark; Hospice Alliance, Inc.; especially Marissa, Julie, Elaine, and Dr. Abdul Durrani; and Lisa’s wonderful family and many friends.
Service Info
Funeral Services honoring Lisa’s life will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2019. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 2224 45th St. Relatives and friends are asked to meet at the church for the Mass. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. A visitation for Lisa will be held on Friday, June 14th from 4:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at the Piasecki Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances to Hospice Alliance, Inc., 10220 Prairie Ridge Blvd., Pleasant Prairie, WI 53158 or the American Brain Tumor Association, 8550 W Bryn Mawr Ave, Chicago, IL 60631, would be appreciated.

Sue MargetsonWords cannot express how sorry I am to hear of Lisa's passing. She was a wonderful, caring person and will be missed. We both started at Unified at the same time and I have great memories of our working together in the Jefferson Annex. She was always there to help anyone who needed it.
