Lisa D. Hessefort of Kenosha, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, April 6, 2026, following a long battle with cancer.
A lifelong resident of Kenosha. Lisa was born on September 27, 1963, to Frank and the late Harriet (nee: Scott) Marano. She attended local schools.
On July 25, 1989, in Las Vegas, NV, she was united in marriage to Craig Hessefort. He preceded her in death on December 11, 2018.
Lisa was employed with Kenosha Unified School District for 35 years, retiring in 2018 to take care of Craig. She loved spending as much time with her family as she could. Lisa was an avid Green Bay Packer, Milwaukee Bucks and Milwaukee Brewers fan.
She was a member of Italian American Ladies Auxiliary, The Swedish American and Women of the Moose.
Lisa is survived by her father, Frank Marano; her daughters, Alyse (Dan) McBride and Amber (Manny) Ramirez; her grandchildren, Samaria, Seth, Siannah, Lawrence, Sarah, Erik and Bryce. She is further survived by her siblings, Sue (Gary) Hoglund, Kristine (John) Tainter, Frank (Debbie) Marano; her sisters-in-law, Julie (Fritz) Hueller, Jill (Frank) Mategrano; her brother-in-law, Keith (Heather) Hessefort and many loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Craig Hessefort; her mother, Harriet “Scottie” Marano; her in-laws, Jack and Sue Hessefort and her grandson, Anthony McBride.
Lisa’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Neil Shepler and all his staff as well as Hospice Alliance Staff and the Staff at City of Hope for the excellent care they provided her.
Honoring Lisa’s wishes, there will be no funeral service.

April 10, 2026Tom and I are very sorry for you girls loosing your mother. Lisa was a very upbeat hardworking woman who deeply loved her daughters and grandchildren. Lisa selflessly took the utmost of care of Craig and she can now join him in peace and rest.

April 9, 2026Lisa has been a neighbor for years and I worked with her at KUSD.. A wonderful, strong person Lisa fought many years to beat the Cancer. Never heard her complain and always positive. Rest in a peace Lisa you certainly deserve it.
