October 17, 1961 -
April 17, 2026

On Friday, April 17, 2026, the world lost a vibrant and unforgettable light when Jody Ponte passed away. She was born in Kenosha, Wisconsin, and graduated from St. Joseph's High School. Jody later made her home in Johns Island, South Carolina. Leaving behind a life marked by energy, personality, and a zest for living that everyone around her felt. Jody was bold, spirited, and unapologetically herself. She brought color, humor, and vibrancy into every room she entered.
Jody loved traveling and embracing new places with enthusiasm. Her passion for decorating made every space she touched expressive and uniquely hers. She had a natural eye for fashion, always confident in her style. In the kitchen, she found joy in cooking, experimenting, and creating meals that brought people together.
Jody is survived by her husband, Raul Ponte; her son, Tyler (Kaitlyn) Terlecky; step-daughter, Jennifer Biezychudek; siblings, Lori (Dale) Wagner, Karen (Chris) Franco, and James (Sabrina) Benko. She leaves behind her grandchildren, Jack and Madison Terlecky; nephews, Jacob Hughes, Bryant Flanders; along with nieces Nadia and Aida Benko.
She was preceded in death by parents, James and Sharon Benko; her grandparents, Joseph and Josephine Benko and Joseph and Marie Smolinski.
Jody's vibrant spirit, strength, and unforgettable presence will remain with her family and friends always.
Private interment will be held in West Lawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances to St. Jude's Children's Hospital https://www.stjude.org/ would be appreciated.
