James L. Langerman
September 27, 1947 -
April 2, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James “Jim” Lee Langerman, lovingly called Lango by family, at Hospice House on Thursday, April 2, 2026, surrounded by family.
Jim was born in Kenosha, WI, on September 27, 1947, to Alice (Nelson) and Joseph Langerman. He was a lifelong Kenosha resident and a proud graduate of Bradford High School. He attended Gateway Technical College, receiving several certifications.
In 1974, Jim married Brenda (Wasley) in Ironwood, MI, and together they built a wonderful life, raising their two children, Amber (Ed) and Brent, and many pets.
Jim found joy in the simple, meaningful things—fishing, cooking, metal detecting, watching backyard birds, camping at Devil’s Lake, serving at the Soup Kitchen, lapidary, singing in the church choir, and sneaking chocolates whenever he got the chance. He was a devoted fan of the Brewers and Packers, took pride in keeping a beautiful yard and garden, and loved gathering for family dinners. He was also an active member of the Mariners group at First Presbyterian Church where he enjoyed spending time with friends and serving his community. He was blessed to have the most wonderful neighbors for the past 50 years.
Over the years, Jim worked as a machine repairman at Johnson Motors, Baxter Laboratories, Ganton Technologies, and Intermet. He also spent time working at Ace Hardware, St. Joseph’s Nursing Home, and the Kenosha Achievement Center. He was known as a hardworking and dependable employee.
Jim is survived by his wife, Brenda; his children, Amber (Ed) and Brent; his sister, Barbara (Mike) Wenning; and his brothers, Rob (Lisa) and Charlie (Tara). He is also survived by his brothers-in-law, Jerry (Sandy) Wasley and Jeff (Debbie) Wasley, along with many beloved nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Alice Langerman; his in-laws, Tom and Marian (Guthrie) Wasley; his sister-in-law, Judy (Wasley) Alvord; his niece, Lindsey (Wasley) Lewis, and nephews, Michael Wasley, Nicholas Wasley, Tom Retzer, and Kurt Crain.
We want to thank the loving friends and family who supported Jim and his family with visits, cards, prayers, and meals during his health struggles. We would also like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Hospice Alliance who cared for Jim like family, and also to his special friends, Gary and Ron (who provided chocolate shakes daily to lift his spirits).
In honor of his love of the Brewers and Packers, feel free to wear your team apparel.
A private inurnment will be held on Friday, April 24, 2026, in Green Ridge Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice Alliance (Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie https://www.hospicealliance.org) or First Presbyterian Church https://kenoshafpc.org in Kenosha.
