Helen K. Briggs, age 95 of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 16, 2019 at Brookdale Kenosha.

Born on October 17, 1924 in Lucas, SD, she was the daughter of the late Albert R. and Kathryn (Smith) Flaherty.

Helen met her sweetheart, Eugene W. Briggs at work and on March 12, 1949, they were united in marriage. They were blessed with 49 years together. Sadly, Eugene preceded her in death on December 18, 1998.

She was a faithful member of Salem United Methodist Church. Helen was a member of the Mall Walkers and was active in the community. Helen was an avid cook who always loved entertaining. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, crocheting, playing cards and dominos.

She is survived by her children, Allen (Peggy) Briggs, James Briggs, Nancy (Thomas) Webster, Jr. and Donna (Kelly) Mullaly; and her brothers, Ray, Wayne and Leland “Squeak” Flaherty.

She is further survived by her grandchildren, Chris Sand, Michelle (Tracy) Bossong, Bill Webster, Tricia Briggs, Mike (Melissa) Briggs, Andy Mullaly, Kerri Mullaly, James, Jr. (Sarah) Briggs, Justin (Natalie) Briggs,

Josh Briggs and Jasmine (Andy) Feiring; her great grandchildren, Julisa, Cassi, Amanda, Niko, Kaylee, William, Emma, Ava, Thomas, Samantha, Landen, Savanna, Rylan, Treyden, Anthony, Chloe and Ashlynn and five great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and loving husband, she was also preceded in death by her brothers, Les, Howard and Harvey and her sister, Gladys.

Service Info

Funeral services honoring Helen’s life will be held on Friday, December 20, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park, 4300 Green Bay Road. Inurnment will follow the service. A gathering of relatives and friends will be held on Friday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
