It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Edward Michael Zapencki, a beloved father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend, who left us on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at the age of 68. He was born on June 22, 1958, in Kenosha, Wisconsin, to the late Michael and Ruth (Newbauer) Zapencki. Ed his life in the community he cherished, impacting those around him with his warm personality and kind spirit.
Ed was a proud Navy veteran, having served aboard the USS Coral Sea Aircraft Carrier. Following his service, he found his calling as a salesman. Ed was dedicated to his work and enjoyed connecting with customers, always bringing a smile to their faces.
Outside of work, Ed had a zest for life that was reflected in his many interests. He was a coin collector, and some of his favorite pastimes were attending magic shows, immersing himself in the world of illusion and wonder. Ed was also involved with the Houdini Club of Milwaukee as well as the Society of American Magicians (SAM).
He is survived by his children, Cathrine (Dewayne) Tutor, Shawn (Hanna) Zapencki, Michael Lindblad, and Jennifer Walsh; his grandchildren, Melanie, Skylar, Grayson, Alexander, Landen, Preston, Gavin, Emma, Taylor, Wyatt, Adaline, Brooklynn, Madison, his brother, David (Kathy) Zapencki, his nieces, Star Young, Laneshia Kenser, Tavia Leslie; and his nephew David Zapencki II.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Ruth Zapencki.
Memorial services honoring Edward's life will be held privately.
