Dennis L. Northern, Sr., age 62 of Kenosha, died at his residence on Sunday, April 12, 2015.
Born in Indiantown Gap, PA on April 19, 1952, he was the son of the late James and Florence (Baughman) Northern.
From May 28, 1969 until his honorable discharge on December 23, 1971, Dennis served in the U.S. Army.
He received his Associates Degree in Business from the College of Lake County.
On August 5, 1989 at Grace Lutheran Church, he was united in marriage to Diane Guttormsen.
Along with his wife, Dennis owned and operated Northern Lights in Kenosha.
He was an avid Chicago Bear fan and a fantasy football legend. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, and fishing. Dennis loved his family and he had a special place in his heart for his grandchildren. He was very proud of each of them and always made sure he was there to support them or root them on in their many activities. Many will remember Dennis for his keen sense of humor.
He will be remembered by his loving wife of 25 years, Diane Northern; his three sons, Chris (Jennifer) Northern of Genoa City, Dennis (Rachel) Northern, Jr. of Richmond, IL and John (Gena) Northern of Clyde, NC; his brother, “Kenny” (Linda) Northern of Springfield, OH; his sister, Georgeanna (Chuck) Lee of Mukwonago; and his grandchildren, Travis, Noah, Madeleine, Hunter, Madison and Isabelle.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Northern; and his father and mother-in-law, Earl and Lou Guttormsen.
The family would like to thank Dr. James Santarelli, Dr. Syed Haider and all the angels at Aurora Cancer Center for the exceptional care and concern they provided.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, April 20, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home, 3720 39th Ave., Kenosha, WI. Interment will follow in Green Ridge Cemetery.

Susan McCauley-Greenville, SCDear Diane and Family- I saw in our national trade email where Dennis had passed and while I did not know him, I wanted to express condolences. my Dad passed from cancer as well at 47 and he was a superstar as I know Dennis was. Joy Haubrich25 Years ago when Dennis married Diane we knew he was a great guy with a big heart. We soon knew just how big and great they were. Hats off to this man who took such wonderful care of our family. His laugh and funny little sayings will be in our hearts and heads forever. Thanks for the memories Moe Man. We will miss you deeply.
