Barbara Ann Thomas, age 61 of Kenosha, died unexpectedly of a brief illness on Saturday, February 24, 2018, at Froedtert South Kenosha Medical Hospital Campus, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on July 20, 1956 in Tomah, WI and was the daughter of the late Marvin and Irene (Brown) Nuttall. She came to Kenosha as a child and attended Jane Vernon Elementary School, Lance Junior High School and was a graduate of Tremper High School. Barbara continued her education and was proud to have received her nursing assistant degree from Gateway Technical College.
On October 15, 1977 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, she was united in marriage to Scott Thomas.
Barb had a special calling to help others. She began her career in nursing at Sheridan Medical Complex and for thirty seven years was employed as a nurse’s aide at Brookside Care Center retiring a year and a half ago. She loved her job and Barb received her greatest satisfaction from helping the elderly and the disabled.
She was a member of the Kenosha Women of the Moose Chapter #155 and very active with the Kenosha Moose Riders with her husband, Scott. Barb was an avid bowler for many, many years. She began bowling at Spencers Bowling Lanes and she was on the Sunday Night Couples League with her husband at Guttormsen’s East, Guttormsen’s West and Sheridan Lanes.
Barbara will be remembered for her love of life. She lived life to the fullest and excelled in many areas. Barbara had the greatest luck at gambling. She loved taking trips to Vegas. Later in life, she became an experienced painter. She loved flower gardening, camping and country music. Rarely did Barbara and her sister-in-law and best friend, Pam, miss attending Country Thunder.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Scott Thomas; her children, Michael and Keith (Jenna Hertz) Thomas; her two grandchildren, Preston and Emma Thomas, her brother, Donald (Judy) Nuttall and her sister, Elaine (Darryl) Russell.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her beautiful daughter, Christina Thomas in 1987; and two brothers, Richard and Ralph Nuttall.

Funeral services and interment in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park will be held privately.
