January 26, 1930 -
September 5, 2015

Arlene R. Sternhagen, age 85, of Kenosha, passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie.
Born on January 26, 1930 in Mayville, WI, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Amelia (Lindstead) Wilhelmi.
On August 11, 1951 in Florence, WI, Arlene was united in marriage to Lloyd Sternhagen at St. John’s Lutheran Church. Following their marriage, they settled down in Neenah, where they lived until 2012. After Lloyd passed away, Arlene relocated to Kenosha.
Before starting their family, Arlene was employed with Northwestern Mutual in Milwaukee and later with Kimberly Clark in Neenah. After the arrival of their daughter, she devoted her time to being a stay-at-home mom.
While living in Neenah, Arlene was an active and involved member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She was a member of their Christian Women’s Circle and selflessly volunteered her time to several church activities. After moving to Kenosha, Arlene was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church and volunteered her time to the church and school activities. After her husband’s retirement, they spent time together golfing and in her free time, she enjoyed crafting. Arlene was also a dedicated Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers fan.
She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Beth Sternhagen; three brothers, Walter (Joyce), Earl (Carol) and Kenneth Wilhelmi and a sister, Shirley (Wayne) Luehrs. Arlene is further survived by several nieces and nephews.

Our sympathy in the loss of your mother. We knew your Mother through Trinity Lutheran Church in Neenah. She and I served on many committees together at Christian Women Circle. Gods blessing to you.

Jerry & Sally TummettHi Beth, Sorry to hear of your Mother's passing away. She was a very nice person. I can't tell you the number of times we got together and had a few beers and much laughter. We first met them at Muench's Bowling Alley on a couples league. They bowled with Fran & Harry Edwards. We always had a good time with both of them and enjoyed their company. I sent a small memorial to Bethany Lutheran School. God Bless.

PJMy husband and I would like to express our sincere sympathy to the family and friends of your beloved Arlene. Although we never had the opportunity to meet Arlene personally, we wanted to share with you comfort from Gods word found in John 5:28,29. Jesus showed us a wonderful example of what the resurrection would be like when he resurrected Lazarus, here on earth, to the arms of those he loved. (John 11) Remember also our Heavenly Father expresses his loving compassion for all of us when someone we love dies (Psalm 34:18). Share your memories with those who surround you, for the memories shared are the ones most truly cherished, may they bring you a sense of peace and joy in your hearts as you begin to heal. Take care of yourselves and each other during this very difficult time.
