William "Bill" Verenski

October 20, 1935 - December 12, 2024

William "Bill" Verenski, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather saw angels on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at the age of 89 and was carried to the Lord. Born on October 20, 1935, in Waukegan, Illinois, to Walter and Evelyn Verenski. Bill was a shining light in the lives of all who knew him.

Bill spent much of his life in Illinois and Wisconsin, where he built a legacy of love, strength, and compassion. He is remembered as a dedicated husband to Rosella Verenski, with whom he shared countless adventures and a deep, enduring love. Together, they raised three wonderful children, instilling in them values of kindness, resilience, and teamwork.

An avid outdoorsman, Bill found great joy in fishing, hunting, and golfing. Bill’s fondest service in life was training black labs for field trials. He was a proud veteran of the National Guard and never missed an opportunity to share stories from his time in service. His passion for sports extended beyond his personal pursuits; as a little league football coach, he dedicated his time and energy to nurturing the talents of young athletes, leaving a lasting impression on the community.

Bill's family was his greatest treasure. He is survived by his wife, Rosella; his children, Gregory (Kathryn) Verenski, Jodi (Randy) Brown and Todd (Heather) Verenski; grandchildren, Ryan Brown, Jori Sewell, Jeffrey Verenski, Kevin Verenski, and Andrew Verenski; and great-grandchildren, Tatum Brown, Rowan Brown, Arya Sewell, and Ava Sewell.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Evelyn Verenski; brother, Dennis Verenski; and sister, Carol Cheeseman.

Rest in peace, dear Bill, knowing you have left the world a better place through your love and dedication to family and community.
