
Ramona Thompson
September 12, 1933 - November 3, 2019
Ramona M. Thompson, age 86 of Kenosha, passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2019 at Home Inspired Senior Living in Somers, WI.
She was born in Portage, WI and was the daughter of the late William and Beryl (Ely) Roblier. She was a graduate of Birnamwood High School. Ramona attended U.W.-Stevens Point and Gateway Technical College.
On August 8, 1984 in Kenosha, she was united in marriage to Gilman C. Thompson. He preceded her in death in 1994.
Ramona was a dedicated homemaker and she enjoyed all crafts, especially knitting and crocheting. Her passions included reading, her family and all things chocolate. She was a thoughtful and compassionate friend to all who were fortunate to know her. Ramona enhanced the lives of others by volunteering at the Kenosha County Detention Center (KCDC) and the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP).
Ramona’s blue eyes, her sense of humor, her lemon bars and unintentional sense of adventure will be deeply missed by her four children, Debbie (Ric) Lloyd of Madison, Bill (Kathy) Herrema of Muskego, Mary (Fred) Montoya of Santa Fe and Beth (Kim) Dary of Kenosha; her sister, Helen Welch of Weston; her thirteen grandchildren, Ramona (Jed) Johns, Vincent (Dana) Lloyd, Nathan (Sarah) Kappel, Kris (Jamie) Heijnen, Alex (Miranda Morgan) Heijnen, Gretchen (Jake) Rouse, Dirk (Amanda) Herrema, Ben Montoya, Emma Montoya, Theo (Consuelo) Kappel, Sam (Audrey) Kappel, Adam Dary and Chris Dary; sixteen great grandchildren; her niece, Becky (Mark) Deditz and her nephew, Bryan (Carey Cogswell) Welch.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband, Richard Herrema.
Ramona’s family would like to thank Aurora at Home Palliative and Hospice Care staff particularly her nurse, Holly, and the staff at Home Inspired Senior Living for the exceptional care they provided to Ramona.
