
Peter Matoska
November 26, 1933 - September 2, 2016
Peter Matoska, age 82 of Kenosha, died peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, September 2, 2016, at Oak Ridge Care Center, Union Grove, WI.
Born on November 26, 1933, in Wilno, Poland, he was the son of the late Wladyslaw and Mary (Schasny) Matoszka. He was educated in Africa and graduated from Tech Mechanical School, in Lilford, Northamptonshire, England following WWII displacement from Poland. Peter and his family came to the United States in January, 1952.
Peter proudly served our country in the U.S. Air Force from 1955 until his honorable discharge in 1959.
On May 6, 1961 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, he was united in marriage to Mary Ann Bruchaty. Their beautiful union was blessed with three children and 55 years of marriage.
He was employed as a welder and mechanic with KAT/Kenosha Auto Transport and Pneumatech, Inc.
Peter’s faith and family were always an important part of his life. He was a longtime member of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church. He was also a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 43 and the Polish National Alliance.
Peter was a hard worker and was always willing to lend a helping hand. His life was filled with many accomplishments, talents and skills. He built the family home in 1968. Peter made a lasting impression with his devotion and love for his family; especially his grandchildren.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, Mary; three children, Anne (David) Curry of Kenosha, Michael (Debra) Matoska of Sheboygan Falls and Thomas (Diane) Matoska of New Berlin and his grandchildren, Matthew and Elizabeth Curry, Kirsten and Madalyn Schmidt and Thomas and Ryan Matoska.
Peter is further survived by his brother, Casimir (Marian) Matoska and his sisters-in-law, Anna Matoska and Helen (Edwin) Setter.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Matoska.
