Born on April 4, 1947, to Josephine and Thomas Fitzgerald. Joseph was known for his warm smile and kind spirit. He touched the lives of so many with his genuine nature and his unwavering support for his family and friends.
He was employed as a Cook County Sheriff Sargent until the 1980s which is then when he relocated to Kenosha/Lakeside Towers. In Kenosha he was locally known as “Chicago Joe.”
Joseph was a devoted father, loving son, cherished brother and friend. He will be dearly missed by his children, Kerry Wentworth, Victoria (Tom Newark); Stephanie (Joe Senepol) Fitzgerald and Joseph (Debbie Griggs) Fitzgerald; step- daughter, Michelle (Spencer) Levy; his sister, Jean (Stan Swidergal) Bowman; sisters-in-law, Berbie Fitzgerald and Rene Fitzgerald and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren and many many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Josephine; brothers, Thomas, Robert, Dennis and John Fitzgerald along with his sister, JoAnne Dillenbeck.
Rest in peace, Joe. You will be loved and missed always. Da Bears! Da Sox!
A gathering of relatives and friends honoring Joseph’s life will be held on a future date. Inurnment will follow privately.
