Billie Louise Whitt, age 102 ½, was born into a Pandemic and passed away during a Pandemic on Saturday, January 9, 2021.  After moving to Kenosha as an infant, she was a lifelong resident, spending 85 years at the same address.

She attended Kenosha schools, graduating from Kenosha High School, in 1936.

As a teenager she babysat, did laundry and cleaned homes with her mother and worked at a few department stores. As a young adult she joined the USO, (United Service Organizations), an organization to support active service members. This was held at the YMCA in Kenosha. She organized dances, dinners, and entertainment for them. She was employed at Nash Kelvinator for 15 years. During some of that time she built airplane engines for World War II. Those ladies were known as “Rosie the Riverter.”

While working at Nash she met her future husband, Virgil Whitt. They were married on April 2, 1951. He preceded her in death on September 2, 2009. They were amazing parents and were active members of First United Methodist Church of Kenosha. They also involved their three children in the Kenosha music program, were lifetime members of Kenosha Band Boosters, and served as Band and Orchestra Chaperones. Her favorite enjoyment in life was spending time with family. At her senior living apartment, she was known as the party girl.

Billie is survived by her three children, David (Teena) Whitt, Kenosha, WI, Steven (Pamela) Whitt, Cape Coral, FL, and Renee (Bruce Cicero) Aull, Mount Pleasant, WI; her eleven grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren, with one more expected in April.

In addition to her parents and husband, Billie was preceded in death by her sisters, Dorothy Avery and Fern Robb; her brother, David Carroll; and a granddaughter and great granddaughter.
