We send our condolences to the Buskirk Family on the loss of your mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. We met Barb and Ed in 1989 when we began attending Immanuel Baptist, which, at that time, was located on 39th & Wilson St. We were newlyweds having moved to Wisconsin for our studies and found the church friendly and were quickly integrated into its family atmosphere. When our studies were completed we left Wisconsin but kept in contact with the church. In 2000 we returned for a visit. We had just spent 3 years serving in the Paris suburbs where we were part of a new church. Immanuel Baptist and some its members financially supported us and during that visit Barb came up and we talked for an extensive period of time. Barb had recently lost Ed and her love for him was evident. Our friendship was deepened and we began corresponding with each other. She lavished love on our family-she became a financial supporter for the ministry in France, but even more importantly she would encourage our family with cards, emails, and when we were in WI with visits. We were able to spend time with her in her home and see photos of family and hear about their accomplishments. Barb loved God and wanted to serve Him well. She did that by being a loving wife, mother, and friend. May God use her legacy to encourage us to remain faithful to Him, to family and to others.
