Arlene Sternhagen

January 26, 1930 - September 5, 2015

Arlene R. Sternhagen, age 85, of Kenosha, passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie.

Born on January 26, 1930 in Mayville, WI, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Amelia (Lindstead) Wilhelmi.

On August 11, 1951 in Florence, WI, Arlene was united in marriage to Lloyd Sternhagen at St. John’s Lutheran Church. Following their marriage, they settled down in Neenah, where they lived until 2012. After Lloyd passed away, Arlene relocated to Kenosha.

Before starting their family, Arlene was employed with Northwestern Mutual in Milwaukee and later with Kimberly Clark in Neenah. After the arrival of their daughter, she devoted her time to being a stay-at-home mom.

While living in Neenah, Arlene was an active and involved member of Trinity Lutheran Church.   She was a member of their Christian Women’s Circle and selflessly volunteered her time to several church activities. After moving to Kenosha, Arlene was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church and volunteered her time to the church and school activities. After her husband’s retirement, they spent time together golfing and in her free time, she enjoyed crafting. Arlene was also a dedicated Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers fan.

She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Beth Sternhagen; three brothers, Walter (Joyce), Earl (Carol) and Kenneth Wilhelmi and a sister, Shirley (Wayne) Luehrs. Arlene is further survived by several nieces and nephews.
