Adela Franco

November 29, 1921 - September 23, 2016

Adela B. Franco, age 94 of Kenosha, passed away on Friday, September 23, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family and into the presence of the Lord.

Adela was born on November 29, 1921 in Thorndale, TX, the daughter of the late Ignacio and Victoria (Garcia) Valverde.

On May 26, 1939 in Calvert, TX, she was united in marriage to Ruben Franco, Sr. They moved to Kenosha from Waco, TX in 1945.  After 58 years of marriage, Ruben died on January 16, 1998.

Adela along with her husband owned and operated Two Hour Masterizing Cleaners for over 30 years.

She was a founding member of Cornerstone Assembly Church and was very active in all church activities. Adela currently was a member of Cornerstone Fellowship and the Kenosha Senior Center. She enjoyed sewing, flower gardening and teaching young people the art of Mexican cooking.

Survivors include her children, Olivia (Thomas) Downes, Sally (Dennis) Smith, Ruby (James) Garcia, Ruben (Connie) Franco, Jr., Daniel Franco, and Charles Franco of, along with 18 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 18 great-great grandchildren.

Along with her parents and husband, Adela was preceded in death by her sons, Victor, Robert, a son at birth and her brother, Raymond Valadez.
