Doreen A. Niemi
March 28, 1960 -
February 15, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Doreen Ann Niemi, who left us peacefully on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at the age of 65. She was born on March 28, 1960, to George and Patricia (Callahan) Doerflinger. Doreen was a graduate of St. Joseph High School.
On September 7, 1985, she was united in marriage to Paul Niemi.
Doreen dedicated her working years to clerical roles with local employers such as Kenosha Medical Group, Andrea's Gift Shop, Mac Wire Rope, and Harbert Auto Parts. Her work ethic and kindness made a lasting impression on her colleagues and clients alike.
A devoted wife to her beloved husband, Paul Niemi, Doreen was the most wonderful mother to her cherished children, Heather (Tyler) Jake and Steven (Libby Chernouski) Niemi; her greatest joy was being a grandma to her grandchildren, Vivian, Virginia, Evander, Everett and Genevieve; and she was a loving sibling to Rick (Dede) Doerflinger, Sharon Doerflinger, Chris (Art) Markin, Ron (Kate) Doerflinger and Debby (Trent Gemoll) Laitinen.
Doreen was preceded in death by her parents, George and Patricia Doerflinger.
In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances to St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital, https://www.stjude.org/ would be appreciated.
Doreen’s laughter, her unwavering support, and her love will resonate in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. As we navigate through this time of loss, we find solace in the beautiful memories she leaves behind. Rest in peace, Doreen; your light will continue to shine brightly in our lives.
