Cecile Marchand (nee: Carbonneau)
March 28, 1933 -
October 2, 2025

Cecile Marchand (nee: Carbonneau), of Kenosha and Clearwater, entered the arms of our Lord on Thursday, October 2, 2025 at the age of 92 years young. Born on March 28, 1933, to the late Emery and Camille (Labrecque) Carbonneau of Bottineau North Dakota.
On November 30, 1950, she was united in marriage to the love of her life Maurice "Morrie" J. Marchand at the Catholic Post Chapel at Fort Lewis, Washington. After Maurice’s discharge from Fort McCoy in 1952 they decided to make Kenosha their new home. Over the years they traveled to many parts of the world together. In the 80’s they began wintering each year in Clearwater Florida at On Top Of The World (OTOW).
Cecile’s strong faith was an integral part of her daily life. She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Kenosha and St. Micheal the Archangel Catholic Church in Clearwater. Though in recent years she often attended mass at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Kenosha.
Cecile obtained a degree as a medical assistant at Kenosha Technical Institute (KTI) and eventually continued her education in nursing at Glenwood Career School. She worked for Kenosha and St. Catherine’s Hospitals, Willowbrook Sanitarium, Dr. M Siegel and retired from the office of Dr. Priti Patel. Her compassion and grace touched countless lives, always being recognized by former coworkers or longtime patients and their families throughout the community, she will be deeply missed by many. In retirement she continued to volunteer at the hospitals in both Kenosha and Clearwater.
Cecile was active in many square dance clubs over the years. She was also a member of the American Association of Medical Assistants, The Kenosha Senior Center, Sigurd Lodge No. 30, The Snowbird Club, and numerous other organizations. Cecile enjoyed keeping herself active and involved in all the communities she was a part of. Each night she looked forward to her dice and card games with her dear friends at Library Terrace and previously St. Catherine’s Commons; even if the winnings weren’t big, the fun and friendships were abundant.
One of Cecile’s greatest joys in her life was her family. She is survived by her children, Connie (Ken) Oatsvall, Greg (Maggie) Marchand, David (Julie) Marchand, Alyce (Mark) Ausse, and Daniel (Peggy) Marchand; her fourteen grandchildren, who will miss her dearly; Corina Cornell (Andre Ross), Kelly Marchand, David (Jilian) Marchand, Melissa Marchand (Ross Schultz), Michelle (Scott) Bauer, Melanie (Josh) Peterson, Renee (Jack Darlington), Jerry (Joyce Zhang), and Kevin (Beth Schwartz) Marchand; Katrina Ausse (Casey Kirk), Camille (Andy) Hernandez, Cynthia Ausse, Joey (Stephanie) and Amanda Marchand (Jeff Carroll); her twenty six (soon to be twenty eight) great-grandchildren, Jahsiyah (Deverie), Aarion, Tristan, Julianne, Emery, Sophia, Sam, Theo, Aubrey, Bennett, Matthew, Katherine, Jackson, Simon, Luca, Brooklyn, Maxton, Lydia, Colton, James, Maria, Rylee, Natalia, Mia, Noelle and Mauricio; and two great-great grandchildren, Aviaunna and Azariyah.
Cecile was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Marchand; her brothers, Maurice and Emery Carbonneau; her sister, Rita Anderson; her son, Duane Marchand and her grandson, Paul Cornell.
A private family interment will take place.
In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances to The American Cancer Society https://www.cancer.org/ would be appreciated.

October 9, 2025Growing up with the Marchands was a part of my life. My mom and dad (Esther and Stanley Yurgs) spent many many times together. I will always remember Cecile with her patience and empathy when my dad was so sick How she helped care for him is always remembered in my heart. I grew up with Connie and all the rest of the brothers an sisters of this warm family. Your mom touched a lot of lives and I personally am lucky to have known and loved her. Now the four of them can have square dances together in heaven I'm sure this would be fun to watch!!! God bless all of you and you are all in my thoughts and prayers.

October 7, 2025When I found out about this loss I felt deeply disappointed. I felt so close to Ceal for so many years. With her living directly above me, I felt especially close to her. We shared so much humor when we played blackjack at night. I will miss her dearly. My heart goes out to your entire family. May your grieving be quick and may you remember her smile.
