Patricia Ann Tomsheck
March 30, 1939 -
September 3, 2025

It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia Ann Tomsheck, aged 86, on Wednesday, September 3, 2025.
Pat was born to Joseph and Martha (Olszak) Febinger on March 30, 1939, in McGrann, Pennsylvania. She grew up in Youngstown, OH with her sister Shirley and brother Joseph.
Pat received her undergraduate degree from Capital University in Columbus, OH, and earned her masters degree from Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, IN. She served as a dedicated teacher at St. Paul's Lutheran School in Michigan City, IN. After moving to Kenosha, WI, she later taught at Grant Elementary and Washington Middle schools. The joy she found in teaching young people was complemented by her love for music. She served as church organist for St. John’s and Messiah Lutheran churches, as well as accompanist for the Kenosha Senior Center chorus. She also held office in her local P.E.O. chapter.
On June 22, 1968, Pat married John Tomsheck in Salem, Ohio. They shared a wonderful life together of love, faith, family, and happiness. Pat is survived by her loving husband, John, her children, Jessica (Steve) Gesicki and Paul Tomsheck, and her grandchildren: Kati, Chloe, and Nathan Tomsheck. She is further survived by her brother, Joe Febinger, brother-in-law, E.R. (Bob) Hamm, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Shirley Hamm, and sister-in-law, Barbara Febinger.
Always an adventurous spirit, Pat visited Europe as a young adult and later with her husband. She also worked at Yellowstone National Park's Old Faithful Inn during summer breaks from college.
She and John travelled often, and loved discovering new places as well as different cultures. Their wanderings took them across the US, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Canada, with stops to see family and friends along the way. When at home, Pat enjoyed a variety of interests and hobbies, including ceramics, watercolors, gardening, baking, and swapping good books with her circle of friends and P.E.O. sisters.
Interment will follow in St. George Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Messiah Lutheran Church, Samaritans Purse (https://www.samaritanspurse.org/ourminitstry/donate-online), or the WI Humane Society (https://www.wishumane.org/contact/kenosha-campuse).
