July 12, 2025

US Veteran
Donald J. Everett passed away peacefully at the age of 95 on Saturday, July 12, 2025. He was surrounded by his family at his home in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
He was born on August 26, 1929, in Somers, Wisconsin to Marjorie (Uhlenberg) and Charles Everett and had five siblings.
In his youth, Don attended Newberry Grade School in Paris Township and graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School. He later met Jeannine Nelson at Bloxdorf's Dance Hall and immediately fell in love. Don and Jeannine were married on June 7, 1952, and celebrated 68 happy years together. They raised two children, Gary and Shelley, and modeled a quiet, appreciative life on the family farm.
Donald was always an active member of his local community and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He was a respected Kenosha letter carrier for over 30 years and a successful farmer for more than 70. He and Jeannine sold flowers and vegetables at the farmer's market every week, where they especially enjoyed socializing with friends. Don had an understated sense of humor, and many people will remember him for his kindness, strength, dirt under his fingernails, and love of a good story. He cared deeply about his family and legacy.
From 1951 to 1953, Don served in the US Army and was stationed in Panama, where he participated in constructing an airstrip. He and Jeannine were avid travelers who circled the globe multiple times and visited every continent. One significant trip was to the island of Guernsey, where Don conducted extensive genealogical research. He mapped out the Everett family tree all the way back to the 1600s and kept a careful catalog of each family member's life story.
Donald is survived by his son, Gary (Diane) Everett; daughter, Shelley (Carl) Kempf; grandchildren, Sarah (Kyle) Czarnecki, Evan (Jennifer) Everett, and Courtney (Derek) Ratliff; and great-grandchildren, Lillee Everett, Nikolai Czarnecki, Scarlett Everett, Alexei Czarnecki, and Avery Ratliff.
In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Jeannine; granddaughter, Ashley Kempf and his siblings, Eugene Everett, Ruth Jackley, Lester Everett, Walter Everett, and Beverly Kasten.
Private entombment will take place in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages a memorial remembrance to a charity of your choice.
