June 25, 2025

Sandra Harris, a woman known for her strength, honesty, warmth, love, laughter, and deep commitment to her family, passed away on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at the age of 81. Born in Chicago, IL on August 14, 1943, to McGoy and LaVada (Rycrow) Harris.
Sandra's journey took her from Chicago to Whiting, Indiana, for seven years, and ultimately to Kenosha, Wisconsin, where she spent another seven years creating cherished memories. She dedicated herself to a fulfilling career as a security officer at Andy Frain Security Services, where she was known for her tough yet caring demeanor.
Sandra was a devoted family woman, fiercely protective of her daughters and beloved grandchildren. She found immense joy in cooking and gathering around the table with her loved ones, sharing meals and laughter.
Sandra loved music and dancing and could often be found enjoying a good book or challenging herself with crossword puzzles. She had a soft spot for animals, especially her beloved cat, Poochie. Sandra was always ready with a good hug, offering comfort and support to those in need. Throughout her life, she was committed to helping others. Her caring nature extended far and wide, touching everyone from family to friends to neighbors.
She is survived by her daughters, LaVada (Victor) Curse, LaVenia (Lovell Patterson) Tucker, Tonya Cruz and Jamie Tucker; her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren; her brother, Larry Greer; and Gilbert Cruz who was like a son to her along with many others who were fortunate to know her warmth.
In addition to her parents, Sandra was preceded in death by her son, Steven Tucker; great grandson, Justin DeLeon and her brother, Randall Davney.
Sandra always said, "Better late than never"-a phrase that captured her spirit perfectly: forgiving, grounded, and full of grace.
