Gregory King, 68, passed peacefully after a brief battle with terminal cancer on Saturday, August 15, 2026, in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Born on April 23, 1958, in Newburyport, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Leo and Martha (Eaton) King. Greg attended local schools and was a 1976 graduate of Amesbury High School.

He spent much of his career in nuclear power plant construction and industrial maintenance, a path that took him all around the country, working with companies including Rad Industries and Westinghouse before later working as a maintenance technician for Birchwood Foods in Kenosha, Wisconsin, and then as a Production Machine Repair Technician for Little Lady Foods in Illinois, from which he retired. He was a man who always needed to know how things worked, and that curiosity carried him from massive industrial equipment to the countless televisions, vacuums, and household gadgets he took apart and repaired for family and friends over the years.

Cars held a special place in his heart throughout his life. Over the years, he spent time lovingly restoring a string of muscle cars, including his beloved Pontiac Firebird, always with the same hands-on curiosity that defined everything he touched.

When he wasn't fixing something, Greg loved to cook, especially at the grill, and took real joy in entertaining. He and his late wife, Lisa, became famous for their Saturday egg rolls, making hundreds at a time to feed family and any neighbors who happened to be around, a tradition many still ask about to this day.

Greg was known by everyone who crossed his path as warm, generous, and endlessly willing to lend a hand. Even as his own health made things harder for him, he showed up for his friends and neighbors whenever they needed him, offering his time, his tools, and his knowledge without a second thought.

Greg is survived by his daughter, Nicole, and her husband, Patrick Stephens; his son, Joshua Gregory King and his siblings, Leonard, Morris, and Deborah (Debbie) King.

In addition to his parents, Gregory was preceded in death by his brother, Leo.

Greg was previously married to Kris Curran-King, of Sandown, New Hampshire, and later married Lisa (Willoughby) King on February 6, 1999, in Kenosha. Lisa preceded him in death on October 4, 2015, in Kenosha. Lisa's daughter, Kelly Troup, preceded her in death; her son, Bruce Troup, survives.

In keeping with Greg's wishes, his family will gather privately to celebrate his life in the way he loved best, surrounded by the people who knew him, sharing stories, and enjoying good food together.
