Dorothy A. Tudjan, age 92, of Kenosha, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2017, at Brookside Care Center.
Born in Kenosha on July 25, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Klement and Eva (Balaz) Jurik. A lifelong resident of Kenosha, she attended local schools and was a 1942 graduate of Kenosha High School.
On September 27, 1947, she was united in marriage to Edward J. Tudjan at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. They were blessed with three children and 63 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on March 12, 2011.
As a young woman, she was employed as a stenographer in the Plant Engineering department with Nash/Kelvinator. Following her marriage, Dorothy dedicated her time to raising their children.
She was a lifelong member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, and was a member of their Rosary Society. Dorothy was a former member of the VFW Junker-Ball Post #1865 Ladies Auxiliary, a current member of St. Jude, the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association of the U.S. and Canada, the Senior Action Council, Friends of the Museum and the Encore Club of Johnson Bank. In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling, baking, playing pinochle and spending time with her family.
Dorothy will be deeply missed by her three children, Jeanne (Donald) Howland, Nancy (Andrew) Schwarz and Randy (Sheryl) Tudjan; her sister, Mary Slivon; six grandchildren, Michelle Frentzel, Katy (Angel) Silva, Adam and Amy Schwarz, Raechel (Shaun) Bartel and Erin (Michael) Valestin and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Jurik.
Dorothy’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Brookside Care and Rehab Center for the compassionate and exceptional care they provided.
Service Info
Funeral services honoring Dorothy’s life will be held on Monday, January 30, 2017, beginning with a prayer service at 11:15 a.m. from the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home, 3720 39th Ave., Kenosha, WI. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 Noon at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 5100-22nd Avenue. Interment will follow in St. George Cemetery.

Al though we had not seen your mom in quite a while, it was always such a pleasure to visit with her and talk about old family history stories. Dinese DamRandy, Sheryl, and Michelle and the rest of the family. I give you my condolences on the loss of your mother/grandmother. She was beautiful lady, friend and neighbor. Always a joy to talk to. I always looked forward to sitting with her outside in the summer visiting. But when it was time for Jeopardy to come on, better believe she didn't miss that.
