Born in Marano Principato, Italy on November 5, 1934, he was the son of the late Francesco and Virginia (Tenuta) Passarelli. He attended grade school in Marano Principato and attended Gateway Technical College during his retirement.
Emil immigrated from Marano Principato in the province of Cosenza, Italy in 1954, 66 years ago. On July 4, 1959 at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary of Pompeii Catholic Church, he was united in marriage to MaryAnn Puntillo.
He was employed with G. Leblanc Corporation for 46 years, retiring in 2004. Simultaneously, Emil worked landscaping for many years as well. His main goal was to make sure his children had a better life. He was also President for the family business, DeRango of Kenosha since 1991.

He was a member of the Alpine Club and Roma Lodge, an avid Packers, Brewers and Bucks fan. Emil enjoyed making homemade sausage, salami and wine. He loved to bowl, play bocce, mushroom hunt and worked very hard tending to his large garden where he would share with many.
