James P. Kobelinski, age 77, entered his NEW LIFE on Sunday, October 11, 2020.
Born in Kenosha on May 8, 1943, he was the son of the late Chester and Dorothy (Bisenius) Kobelinski. He attended Orthopedic and Jane Vernon Schools.
James was employed at the Kenosha Achievement Center for many years.
He is survived by his sisters, Kathryn Koza and Sr. Kathryn Ann Kobelinski, SSND as well as nephews and nieces, Russell, Mayra, Darrell and Cynthia.
Service Info
A visitation will be held on Monday, October 19th from 9:30 am at Piasecki Funeral Home; concluding with a prayer service at 10:30 a.m.
Interment will follow in St. Casimir Cemetery.
Due to public health concerns, and in compliance with CDC guidelines, only 50 people will be permitted to enter the funeral home at one time. For the safety of our guests, you may be asked to wait outside. Social distancing will be maintained and those in attendance are required to wear a face covering. We thank you for your understanding and cooperation during this difficult time.

Diane GilesMy deepest condolences on the loss of your beloved Jim. He touched so many lives with his kindness. Once you met the guy, you never forgot him. Jim worked for me in the mid 1980s at the Bulletin weekly newspaper in Kenosha for about a year, as an inserter. Inserters slipped advertising material into each Bulletin and tied them into bundles. He was the best worker I had, always on time, courteous, and oh, that smile! He was so cheerful, kind and sharing. Once, he let me use his postcard collection to illustrate one of my local history columns. It was a sad day when I had to tell him the inserting jobs were being eliminated, due to outsourcing to the Kenosha News. I'd see him downtown now and then after that and we'd chat. Last Tuesday, my friend of 50 years, Sue Liu were talking and somehow Jim's name came up in the conversation. We were astonished to discover we both knew Jim. We shared our "Jim" stories and agreed in our assessment: Jim was a wonderful man. We had no idea he had just died two days earlier. Jim left his mark on the world. Bless him and you, his family.

Jerry SochaIn the 50‘s, Jim and I were in Orthopedic school together. He was seven years my senior so I knew him as a big, gentile giant. He used to construct Rube Goldberg style contraptions from the materials available in his desk. With great joy he would drop marbles through these creations and we would watch to see if they would make it to his finish line. Several times as an adult, I was lucky to meet up with Jim at the Saturday farmer’s market or while he waited for the bus on Sheridan after work. His face always lit up with a smile - his eyes had the twinkle of a mischievous kid. Jim was an inspiration to me - both as a child and as an adult. Rest in Peace Jim.
