
Albert “Butch” Fonk

Albert “Butch” James Fonk passed away unexpectedly, surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Froedtert South- Pleasant Prairie Hospital.
He was born in Racine, WI on July 8, 1946; to Stanley and Rosella (Terrien) Fonk. He attended local schools and graduated with his GED from Gateway Technical College.
Butch served his country in the US Army, 4th Infantry Division, from December 1965 serving in Vietnam before being honorably discharged in September 1967.
Butch worked for 31 years at Outboard Marine Corporation (OMC), where he worked as a machinist until his retirement.
On May 15, 1971, he was united in marriage to Mary Jo Wood at St. George Catholic Church. They were blessed with five sons and almost 50 years together, residing in Kenosha.
Butch was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church, the American Legion, and of the NRA.
Butch was an avid outdoorsman and loved spending time with his family up north on their family farm. He also enjoyed wood working and tinkering on various projects with his sons in his workshop.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Mary Jo; sons, Kelly (Krista) Fonk, Keith (Rebecca) Fonk, Kevin (Rhonda) Fonk and Kyle (Tina) Fonk; grandchildren, Kassidy, Jarret (JJ), Wyatt, and Ryker; his siblings, Lois Carlson, Patricia Bruce, Jerry (Connie) Fonk and Kurt Fonk and several nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, Butch was preceded in death by his son, Kory Fonk and his brother, Donny Fonk.
Service Info
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, services for Butch and military honors will be held privately. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
