Ann Dobrinska
April 18, 1928 -
November 18, 2021

Ann Helene (Goodman) Dobrinska, age 93, passed away on Thursday, November 18, 2021 in Pleasant Prairie.
Born April 18, 1928 to the late Clarence and Gertrude (Reith) Goodman in Kenosha, Ann attended St. James Elementary and graduated from Bradford High School. She attended Gateway Technical College in the Police Science Program.
Ann was united in marriage to Ronald Osborn in 1946, Charles Dickinson in 1950, and Eugene Dobrinska in 1978.
Ann’s first job was with Bell Telephone as an operator; being at the switchboard when the end of WWII was declared was an exciting milestone in her life. In 1963, Ann was employed with the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department as the Detective Bureau secretary. She celebrated her retirement in 1986, after twenty-three years in service to the department.
Upon her retirement, she enjoyed trips to the South Pacific and Europe, where she had the privilege of meeting Pope John Paul II. Her hobbies included cross stich, traveling, reading, playing cards and bingo, and going to casinos. Since 1994, Ann has also been a devoted volunteer at the Shalom Center and Kenosha Memorial Hospital. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church.
Ann’s proudest achievement is having an accomplished, loving family. She cherished every moment she was able to spend with them. She was so very proud of all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and for what each of them has become. Ann is especially thankful for the lovely ladies in her son’s lives, and for the way they raised their children.
Left to comfort one another with cherished memories of Ann are her sons, Charles Dickinson of Kenosha, Richard (Joan) Osborn of Waunakee, WI, Robert (Margaret) Osborn of Longmont, CO, Leif (Ruth) Dickinson of Kenosha, Paul (Martha) Dickinson of Chicago, IL; her 14 grandchildren; her 17 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her half-sister, Kay “Sunny” Gilliam of Birmingham, AL, and her half-brother, Dan Goodman of New Jersey.
In addition to her parents and husband, Eugene, Ann was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Mathey, and her son, David Dickinson.

Sandy, Mike, and RachelAnn was wonderful mother-in-law and dedicated grandmother. Family meant so much to her, and out of all of the great things she will be remember by, nothing compares to her insistence on attending annual family events! Go Ann! We know that you have many friends and family where you are now and that provides us with peace. With love, until we meet again.

George and Katherine BorstGeorge and I were saddened to hear about Ann’s passing and send our condolences to all of the family members. Ann was a lovely lady that I always enjoyed talking to. She made us feel like we were part of her family when we attended parties. It was a pleasure working with her in the ER when she was a volunteer. She gave the best hugs.
