Eileen Van Meter
January 31, 1970 -
March 7, 2022

Eileen Van Meter, age 52, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2022, surrounded by her family.
Born in Libertyville, IL on January 31, 1970, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Elaine (Bouloukos) Van Meter. She was a lifelong resident of Round Lake Beach, IL.
Eileen was a long-time and well-respected employee of The Hanover where she worked as a Team Lead helping to train and develop underwriting support staff. Dedicated in all aspects of her life, she worked for The Hanover for over 30 years.
Eileen loved Bingo. She loved to play it, and when not playing, she was in the hall as the bingo caller. She had a wonderful community of friends who played together for years. When not playing bingo, she loved to play any game with friends and family, especially long-running games to keep a competition going. When outdoors, she loved relaxing in the pool, fishing, balloon festivals, and live music on the Kenosha waterfront.
Eileen in her truly competitive spirit was always first with recognition and support. At 12:01am on your birthday or anniversary, she had pictures and congratulations for you posted on social media. She bragged incessantly on her nieces and nephew and on all of the four-legged family members she also dearly loved and cared for. She had a vibrant presence that made her unique and wonderful. What we wouldn’t give to hear her trademark, “nniiiiiccce” one more time.
Surviving Eileen are her sisters, Ellen (Wallace) Grimmer, Evelyn (Bob) Becker, and Elena Van Meter; her nephew and nieces, Bobby, Josi and Maddy, and her devoted cat, Mia.

Heidi GamblaWith deepest sympathy, I was heartbroken when I heard of Eileen's passing. I started with Hanover twelve years ago and she was my trainer. We both worked early and I would get my coffee and then walk over to her desk and start talking about what was new or what we we going to do on the weekend She spoke very highly of her family and was especially proud of her nieces and nephews. She loved her cat Mia! I will miss Eileen greatly.. Rest in peace .

Janelle ThomasI had the pleasure to meet and work with Eileen when I began my career with Hanover six years ago. She had a vast source of knowledge, dedicated work ethic and was an essential asset to the Marine Department. One thing that I always admired about her, was that she was never afraid to be her true self, which was always very electric and very humorous. I was very heartbroken to hear of Eileen's passing, she will truly be missed. My heart and condolenses go out to the family of Eileen, she truly loved her family and always spoke very lovingly of them. Rest well Beautiful...

Tori SzekeresWe all learned a lot from Eileen at The Hanover. When I came to the company, I had very little insurance experience and she was a repository of knowledge! I had the pleasure of seeing her call bingo in 2018 for a company United Way event - she was in her element. I'm so sorry for your loss.
