It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ervin Prust Jr., who left us peacefully on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at the age of 89. He was born on April 25, 1935, to Ervin and Selma Prust in Waupun, WI. In his younger years, his family moved to Kenosha where he attended local schools.
On August 19, 1961, he married his "Dear" Dorothea Bossingham and they spent 63 wonderful years together. He called her "My Love," and this term of endearment fueled their spark for each other they raised their family.
Ervin proudly served his country as a transport operator in the United States Army from 1957 to 1959. As a skilled woodworker, he spent much of his free time creating family treasures such as tables and chairs, as well as beautiful worship furniture pieces which can still be found proudly displayed at his church. His competitive spirit would find him cheering on his Green Bay Packers and playing BINGO every Wednesday and Thursday at the Kenosha Moose Lodge #286.
Ervin is survived by his wife, Dorothea; his children, Larry Prust and Laura (Dan) Abbott; grandchildren, Daniel (Michelle) Abbott and Kailey Abbott; great granddaughters, Ava and Zoey Abbott; and sister, Karen Schmidt.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ethel Mae Smith; and brother, Kenneth A. Prust
Ervin lived a life full of warmth, kindness, and joy, touching the hearts of everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. His presence will surely be missed, but his spirit will live on in the stories we share and the love we carry.

Memorial services honoring Ervin's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 10, 2025 at Lakeside Lutheran Church, 3833 8th Ave., Kenosha, WI.
Inurnment will take place in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park at 12:30 p.m.

Prust Jr. We have made many many trips to Kenosha over the years we always make a point to go by and visit with Big ERV & Dottie!!! We were last in Kenosha June of 2024 we cherish the sweet visit we had with Dottie & Erv. It's with our deepest sympathy and hope of God's eternal love to comfort you through these difficult days;, weeks to come we pray for peace and strength for all. Big JR, Erv was a fine husband, father, Brother, Uncle, he served his country well also and Christian man of faith. We regret that we could not be with you for Erv's Memorial Service due to the fact Allen Prust (Allen Prust is the younger brother to Erv.)is taking cancer treatments at this time.
