April 26, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jean Marlene Sauer, a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, who left us on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at the age of 92 with family by her side. She was born on March 23, 1934, to the late René and Jean (Smith) Vernezze in Kenosha, Wisconsin. She was a proud graduate of Kenosha High School and embraced every opportunity to share her love for life with those around her. Jean spent her life spreading warmth and kindness wherever she went.
On August 28, 1965, she was united in marriage to Charles A. Sauer III.
Jean dedicated her working years as a Waitress Hostess and pie baker for Timber Ridge Bar & Restaurant, where her cheerful demeanor and caring heart brightened the days of countless guests and staff alike.
She found joy in watching sports, particularly cheering on the Cubs, baking, and cherishing time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Jerry (Kelly) Reeves and Charles (Rachel) Sauer IV; her son-in-law, Mark Uelmen; her many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles A. Sauer III; her son, James Reeves Jr; her daughter, Judith Uelmen and her siblings, John E. Vernezze, Ronald Vernezze, Peggy Peterson, Dorothy Swan and Shirley Kukawski.
In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances to the family would be appreciated.

April 29, 2026So sorry for your loss. I enjoyed many conversations with her whenever I would visit the Marina Gardens "breakfast club" with my parents.
