Sterling Brett Oliver
May 15, 2003 -
March 17, 2026

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of our beloved sweet child, Sterling Brett Oliver, on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at the age of 22. Also known as Viviana to some friends. Sterling was born on May 15, 2003, to Edward and Lanette (Fluck) Oliver. He was a graduate of LakeView Technology Academy. He was a bright light in the lives of those who knew him, filled with creativity, quiet strength, laughter, and a beautiful spirit.
Sterling was gentle, kind, and deeply caring, with a patient and dependable nature. He had a witty sense of humor and a warmth that made others feel comfortable and understood. He will be remembered for his beautiful smile, long hair, and piercing blue eyes.
Sterling formerly worked at the Kenosha Humane Society, where his love for animals was evident. For the past two and half years as a security guard for GardaWorld.
Sterling had many different passions throughout his life. As a child, he loved Thomas the Tank Engine and trains, had an incredible knowledge of dinosaurs, and enjoyed playing Mario games, especially Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros., as well as building with Legos. As he grew older, he continued to enjoy Mario and gaming, developed a love for anime, and showed a true gift for drawing. He also had a deep love for animals, especially dogs, cats, wolves, foxes, and servals. He enjoyed spending time with friends, going on trips with family or friends, and most of all, being at home drawing and gaming with those closest to him.
Sterling's kindness and gentle nature had a way of making even the toughest days feel a little brighter. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He will be profoundly missed by his parents, Edward and Lanette (Fluck) Oliver; his brother, AJ (Austin) Oliver; his grandparents, Dan and Janet Fluck and Sandy Maennena; his aunts and uncles, Lori and Kirk Duffie, Aaron Maennena and Sabrina Adams, Heidi Maennena and family, John Maennena, and Amie and Jared Verba; and his cousins, Dani Williams, Hazel Kopera and family, Anastasia Mallek, Chloe Adams, and many other extended family members and friends.
As we come together to grieve, let us also remember the joy Sterling brought to our lives and the love he shared with everyone around him. His spirit will forever remain in our hearts.
Rest gently, dear Sterling. You are loved always and forever.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Sterling's honor may be made to the Kenosha Humane Society, 7811 60th Ave, Kenosha, WI 53142 https://www.wihumane.org/ or the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention through AJ's fraternity Lambda Chi Alpha https://afspwalks.donordrive.com/teams/388522. All other donations will be used to create a scholarship in Sterling's honor to support students who show a passion for the fine arts, especially drawing or band.

March 28, 2026I was a student at Lakeview and a member of the Harborside band and Band of the Blackwatch. I sat directly next to Sterling for three years in band, I was a Saxophone and he of course played the French Horn. I really loved talking to Sterling, we got yelled at a ton of times for looking at memes on our phones during band, and generally making a ruckus. He was a genuine soul and a good friend.
My condolences to all of his loved ones. He will be dearly missed.

March 27, 2026So sorry for the loss of such a wonderful person. Sterling and I met at Safe Harbor. I was always delighted when he was scheduled to work. He had such a calming presence and really took pride in the work he did there. He was unlike anyone I've ever met. His sense of humor was so unique and he really made a huge difference in so many animals and coworkers lives. He was patient and gentle with the fearful and feisty cats and gave special attention to each and every animal he encountered.

March 23, 2026Sterling was a great Ambassador for GardaWorld and left a great impression on anyone that had the pleasure of meeting him. I hired him directly back in November of 2023 and I can confidently say he was one of my best hires. He is missed by several of his coworkers and hearing of his passing saddened me deeply. I personally send my deepest condolences to his family and friends.
