Michael Piasecki served in the US Army and, upon his return from the service, formed a bond with other service men and women in the community as a member of several veteran organizations. Sadly, Michael passed away at a young age, but his wife Nancy remained committed to honoring his legacy by continuing to support veterans in our community.  Today, Nancy Piasecki, and her team of dedicated professionals, continue to make veterans and their families a priority for Piasecki Funeral Home.

For many years, the Piasecki Funeral Home family has visited veterans in nursing homes and assisted living facilities on Veteran’s Day, letting them know they are not forgotten.  In addition to this personal outreach, Piasecki Funeral Home supports the veteran groups and agencies in our community through attending events or sponsoring fund raisers. For over ten years now, the twice-weekly gatherings at American Heroes Café have been supported by the joint efforts of Festival Foods, Good Value Pharmacy, and Piasecki Funeral Home. The American Heroes Café is a special place for all veterans and supports the veteran brotherhood of our local servicemen and women through shared experiences, emotions, and camaraderie. It’s like a weekly Veteran’s Day!

When the time comes for a veteran’s final salute, Piasecki Funeral Home is privileged to take an active role in the coordination of all military honors.  We work closely with the Kenosha Veterans office to confirm veteran’s eligibility, as well as with the Kenosha Area Vietnam Veterans (KAVV) Honor Guard to conduct the formal ceremony. We feel fortunate to have these relationships, as many surrounding counties are not blessed with similar resources.  Veterans also have the privilege of being laid to rest locally at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove, or within national burial grounds such as Arlington National Cemetery.  The staff at Piasecki Funeral Home has experience coordinating these efforts of final disposition and would welcome the opportunity to serve veterans in this way as well.

Planning ahead for veteran’s honors ensures that these arrangements are in place when the end-of-life moment arrives. For over 90 years, Piasecki Funeral Home has been serving veterans from a place of love and dedication, and it would be our honor to be there for you or your veteran at your time of need.

We are here to help you through the process for your end-of-life care.
