Naida Kimbrel
February 13, 1953 - November 24, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Naida M. Kimbrel, a free-spirited and fun-loving soul, who passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at Geneva Lake Manor. Naida was born on February 13, 1953, in Chicago, IL, to the late Ray and Lea (Patruno) Kimbrel whose memory she cherished in her heart. She embraced life with zest and creativity, finding joy in creating floral arrangements, crafting, ghost hunting, junking, and reading, knowing full well that each day was a gift to be celebrated.
Naida, a proud florist by profession, had a strong spiritualistic side and was a firm believer in living in the present, cherishing every moment as it came. To her, books were magical portal to another dimension, and she was a fervent advocate for the written word, igniting many a passion for reading in those she touched. She was thrilled to share her wisdom and experiences with the world, becoming a published author with her book, "Spirits Around Me."
Survived by her loving children, Cody (Aurora) Smith and Tammy (Erick) Bluemel-Norton; grandchildren, Aleah, Alivia, Sarah, Kaylene, John, and Corrine; sisters, Tania (Mike) Kimbrel-McCarty and Luana Kimbrel-Wolf; nieces, Tiana Mladonicky and Meghan (Marco) Gusella; nephews, Ray (Laura) Dickens, Michael (Brianna) McCarty, Cory Wolf, Travis Wolf, and Brian Wolf.
Naida was preceded in death by her parents, one of her best friends, Pattie Reed; and many beloved fur babies, especially Bella.
Naida's legacy will be remembered for her vibrant energy, love of floral beauty especially daisies and lilies, and unwavering belief in the power of storytelling and the unknown. As we honor her life, let us continue to embrace every moment as she did, living each day to its fullest, with a fresh cup of coffee, just as Naida would have wanted. May she rest in peace.
Naida's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Aurora Home Hospice and Geneva Lake Manor for the care and support provided.
