Show Obituaries Show Guestbook Show Photos QR Code PrintIt is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donald E. Nykiel on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Kenosha Place at the age of 97. Don was the son of John and Helen (Nawrocki) Nykiel. He was born on January 5, 1928, in Milwaukee, WI, where he lived in Milwaukee most of his life. He graduated from Pulaski High School and served in the United States Army in WWII.
Don worked at Guhring, Inc. in Brookfield, WI as a tool and die maker for many years.
He married Phylamae Zydowicz in Milwaukee in 1950; she preceded him in 1990. In May of 1996 he married Audrey Dober.
Don is survived by his wife, Audrey; daughter, Pamela Nykiel, two grandsons, and three great granddaughters. He is further survived by his stepchildren, Paula (Jeff) Horsley, Bruce (Nancy) Dober, Kristine (Kevin) Leslie, and Carol (Peter) Weil; five step grandchildren, four step great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Deborah Nykiel; grandson, Dominic Crivello; and his siblings, Raymond, Norman, Edwin, Leonard and Alvina (George) Stolarczyk.

A visitation for Don will be held on Friday, May 30, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the Piasecki Funeral Home, 3720 39th Ave, Kenosha. WI.
Funeral services with full military honors will begin at 11:00 a.m.

He will be entombed later in St. Adalbert Garden Mausoleum, 3801 S. 6th Street, Milwaukee, WI.
