At Piasecki Funeral Home, we take pride in shining a spotlight on our team members who exemplify exceptional dedication to serving families and our community. Jim Landgraf has been an integral part of the Piasecki Funeral Home team for over two decades, bringing compassion and support to grieving families during their most challenging times.

His journey at Piasecki began in June 2002, where he started by assisting funeral directors during services and visitations. Over 20 years later, he’s now a licensed apprentice, allowing him to directly assist families from the moment they reach out to Piasecki for assistance.

Beyond his role at Piasecki, Jim is inspired by various aspects of life, particularly the wisdom of both the young and the elderly. As a teacher for 36 years, he values learning from individuals of all ages and cherishes the opportunity to connect with them. Jim is also the author of “Pillow Thoughts,” a journal designed to foster better communication between children and their parents, reflecting his commitment to strengthening family bonds.

One of Jim’s most cherished experiences involves spending time with a 100-year-old friend named Ernie. Every Tuesday, Jim visits Ernie, offering companionship and support while learning from Ernie’s wealth of life experiences. These interactions serve as a reminder of the value of human connection and the importance of cherishing every moment.

Jim’s dedication extends beyond the funeral home, as he actively participates in community initiatives and projects. While he may not hold a formal position in any organization currently, his involvement in his church as a lay minister and religious education teacher demonstrates his commitment to serving others.

Jim’s passion for community service is evident in his support for organizations like the Hospice Alliance and the Big Brother/Big Sister program. He admires the compassion demonstrated by hospice nurses and recognizes the transformative impact of mentorship on children who have experienced loss.

For those interested in getting involved in community service, he encourages reaching out to local organizations and leveraging personal talents to contribute meaningfully.

Jim’s life journey is characterized by a deep commitment to serving others and a genuine passion for making a difference. From his role at Piasecki Funeral Home to his active involvement in community initiatives, Jim Landgraf exemplifies the power of compassion and dedication in enriching the lives of those around him.
