It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rita Maureen Fuchs, age 70, who left us on Monday, July 14, 2025. Born on March 7, 1955, to the late Raymond and Charlotte Reinke. She was a 1973 graduate of James Madison High School. Rita brought warmth, creativity, and compassion into the lives of everyone she encountered. Rita spent her life dedicated to her family and her work. Known for her warm spirit and compassionate nature, she was an integral part of both her family and the community. Her meticulous work and dedication did not go unnoticed in her professional life, and she formed many cherished friendships during her time in the office.
A lover of social gatherings, she cherished her time with friends, often leading the charge for fun and laughter. The joy of crocheting was a thread that wove through her life, with every piece she created holding a story, a memory, and a touch of her thoughtful nature. Anyone that was gifted with one of her crafts knows how much thought and planning went into each stitch. In addition, she enjoyed working with Jen's Sweet Treats, spending leisure time at the YMCA, and will be remembered for her countless hours of volunteering at the VA Medical Center.
Rita had an affinity for the color pink, delighted in the beauty of butterflies and angels, and had a soft spot for carnations, each holding a special place in her heart.
She is survived by her daughter, April Fuchs, who was the light of her life. She also leaves behind her beloved brother, Randy who fondly remembers the laughter and love they shared through the years. Rita's warmth, kindness, and ability to bring people together will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
In addition to her parents, Rita was preceded in death by her brothers, Roger, Rick, and Raymond Reinke.
In lieu of flowers, Rita would appreciate donations to your favorite charity.

20 de julio de 2025On behalf of the Smole family I extend our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Rita.Rita was a former neighbor of my mother Fannie who resided in West Allis for decades before a move to assisted living and subsequent death in march 2020 at the age of 93.Rita was more than a special friend to my mom.Her direct assistance, emotional support and compassionate ear allowed mom to live in her home alone for many more years than would have been possible without Rita's loving involvement .Her generosity, kindness and thoughtfulness will never be forgotten.Rita will always be an extended member of the Smole family.

18 de julio de 2025What a beautiful person she was. I got to know her at the YMCA in Racine 2018. My last contact with her was July 7th at the ymca and later that day with a follow up text telling her how great she looked with all the weight she had lost and what an inspiration for me to lose my 20 extra pounds. she will be missed by her friends at the YMCA. I made a donation in her name today.

18 de julio de 2025Rita was always gave of herself without any expectation of something in return. I had the pleasure of meeting her when I worked at the bakery and our friendship grew stronger as I fell in love with her “tell it like it was” attitude. As time passed she showed up where I was bartending to surprise me and have a tequila sunrise. We both shared the love of tequila as well. Our conversations would always pick up as no time has passed.
Last month I was sharing my excitement of accompanying my father on the Honor Flight. A few weeks went by and she then apologized for not getting a card to me for my father as she just came home from the hospital. She was always directing the conversation away from her and wanted to hear about me. Rita I know you are enjoying that tequila sunrise with the best company. Save a seat. We will have alot to catch up once it’s my time.

18 de julio de 2025Rita didn’t know a stranger and was always willing to help out others. She definitely knew her way around a kitchen. I think of her every time I cut a watermelon as she showed me the absolute best way to do it. I pray she is soaring high with all the other angels. April, may you find peace and comfort in all the memories you made and shared with your loving mother.
