Muriel Joy Jeffery, age 86, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, with her family by her side.  Born September 9, 1938 in Kenosha, she was the daughter of the late Vernon and Esther (Hielsberg) Shaw.  Raised and educated in Kenosha, she attended local schools and was a graduate of Mary D. Bradford High School.

On September 15, 1956, Muriel was united in marriage to Chester R. Jeffery at Bethany Lutheran Church.  Chester passed away in February of 2016.

Muriel was employed as a cashier with Community Discount World, Shopko and Lou Perrine’s Gas and Groceries.  She was also employed for many years as a bank teller with U.S. Bank.

Muriel loved spending time with her family, traveling to the beach and working crossword and word search puzzles.

Survivors include her four children, Chester D. of Matthews, NC, Debra (Tom) Vieth of Kenosha, Shari (Nick) Perrine of Appleton, WI and Susan Liessner of Kenosha; daughter-in-law, Rachelle Jeffery of Hilton Head, SC; ten grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.  She is further survived by nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her son, Roger Jeffery and her sister, Sharon Fuerstenau.
