Cremación

Kenosha Funeral Home Cremation

Although the cremation process has been performed for hundreds of years, it wasn’t until the 1860s that cremations began being performed in the United States. Today about half of the population chooses cremation as a final disposition. Many people prefer cremation over traditional burial because of cost, environment, religion or other factors.

What many people may not know is that families that choose cremation can have (and should consider) a traditional visitation and/or funeral service prior to the cremation. While you or your loved one may see cremation as “less hassle” or “easier for everyone”, it is important to remember that those left behind deserve the opportunity to say a proper goodbye.

If your family has chosen cremation you or your loved one, you may also consider:

  1. Visitation with viewing
  2. Funeral service with viewing
  3. Graveside committal with hearse ride in custom urn carrier (see photo)
  4. Reception
