Ardell J. Dworak, age 80 of Pleasant Prairie, died peacefully at his residence on Sunday, August 17, 2014, with his family by his side.
A lifelong resident of Kenosha, he was born on April 16, 1934 and was the son of the late Edward and Helen (Schubert) Dworak.
From December 10, 1956 until his honorable discharge on December 10, 1958, Ardell served in the Second and Third Armored Division of the U.S. Army. Ardell was employed as a machinist with Ladish Tri Clover for 42 years, retiring in 1996.
On September 26, 1959 at St. Casimir Catholic Church, he was united in marriage to Shirley M. LaBrecque. For nearly 55 years, they enjoyed spending as much time as possible together and their home was filled with lots of love. Ardell will be remembered as an amazing husband, father and grandfather.
He was a faithful member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. Ardell was known as a very generous man that selflessly gave his time to others. He welcomed visitors to his home with open arms and enjoyed spending time volunteering at the Shalom Center.
Ardell was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of the Kenosha Moose Lodge #286, the North American Hunting Club and the N.R.A. He was a life member of the P.L.A.V. and in his younger years, he was a member of the Kenosha Bowman for 27 years. Ardell loved the Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee Brewers.
He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Dworak; his four children, Ardell (Kim) Dworak, Jr. of Rochester, MN, Laure (Joe) Robinson of Pleasant Prairie, Connie (Dave Rus) Dworak Rus, of Council Bluffs, IA and Denise (Darren) Matel of Kenosha; his sister Audrey Krahn of Phoenix, AZ; nine grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and his two feline friends, “Buddy” and “Cricket”.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ted and Richard; and two sisters, Dorothy and Phyllis in infancy.
