Private inurnment will take place at All Saints Cemetery, Kenosha WI. |
Age 95, died peacefully on November 22, 2014 at Marian Care Center in St Paul, MN. Born on April 17, 1919 to Joseph and Mary Newhouse in Kenosha WI. She lived her full active life there until she moved to St Paul in 2007 to be near her daughter, Joanne. Married to Domenic E. Ventura at a young age; they raised a large family of 10 children- seven sons and three daughters. Preceded in death by Domenic, her husband of 57 years; their son, Donald; grandson, Anthony; son-in-law, John Hendrickson; sisters, Julia Nelson, Florence Schlater, Jane Bezotte, Marian Bezotte, Pauline Walsh; brother, Edward. Survived by nine children, Mary Hendrickson, James (Donna), Thomas (Marie), Joanne (Frederick) Czeswik, Kathleen (Richard) Rose, John (Mary Kay), Joseph (Veronica), Michael (Stacy), William (Karen); 25 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great granddaughter; sister-in-law, Ida Russo; and many nieces and nephews. Lillian was a woman of faith and love — totally devoted to her big wonderful family. She was a wonderful cook and a creative sewer, making gifts for all her children, grandchildren and others. Her Raggedy Ann and Andy Dolls are uniquely hers and many of them are kept as treasures and keepsakes with loving memories. Motherhood was her vocation and passion. Her legacy is the strong family ties and traditions she built. Her strength and tenacity helped her overcome obstacles that included a massive stroke 28 years ago. |
