Holland.
Judy was a graduate of Mary D. Bradford High School. As a young woman, she worked as a telephone operator with Wisconsin Bell in downtown Kenosha. After her children were in school, she worked with her best friends at Montgomery Wards until the store closed. She then worked at Kenosha Public Library Southwest as a media page until her retirement.
On June 23, 1951 she was united in holy marriage to Robert “Jerry” Leipzig at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.
She was a long time parishioner of St. Mary Catholic Church. She was a member of the Woman’s Auxiliary V.F.W. Post 1865. For the past 12 years, she was an active volunteer at the Kenosha Public Museum, and enjoyed chatting with the many museum visitors.
Judy had a passion for travel and loved to share the memories of her adventures. She traveled as often as she could with family and friends. Some of her most treasured memories were from the times she spent in Ireland and Florida with her sisters and the trips to Texas to visit her son and family. She spent many happy hours “up north” at her Aunt and Uncles’ resort on Lake Puckaway. She also enjoyed her yearly trips to Ho-Chunk with her daughter.
Family was the most important thing to Judy. She valued every opportunity to spend time with her family.
She loved summertime, family get togethers, cookouts, the 4th of July parade, betting on the sulky races at the Walworth County Fair, and of course, her birthday. Christmas was her time to shine. She loved the traditions of the Season and put a piece of herself into each gift she bought. The most important part of all was sharing her love with her family.
She will be deeply missed by her children, Kathy (Jay) Poplawski and Marty (Stephanie) Leipzig; her grandchildren, Amy (fiancé, James Meyers) Poplawski, Beth Poplawski, Holly (Jeremy Schwanke) Poplawski, Kristen Leipzig and Tasha Leipzig; her two great-grandchildren, Bace Poplawski and Jasper Poplawski-Meyers; her sisters, Sandra (Donald) Fischback and Karen Skowronski; along with her loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her husband.

View Archived Condolences for Judith “Judy” Leipzig

Información del servicio

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 13, 2014.
