Spaulding, age 89 of Kenosha died on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at Brookside Care Center.<br \/>\nBorn in Kenosha on January 29, 1925 she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Ollie<br \/>\n(Fourtner) Frederich.<br \/>\nIrene attended Lincoln Jr. High School and Gateway Technical College where she learned cooking and seamstress skills.<br \/>\nOn March 27, 1943 in Kenosha she was united in marriage to Harvey Spaulding.<br \/>\nIrene enjoyed sewing, traveling and camping in their Winnebago. She was a member of the Winnebago Camping Club and the Trail Runners Camping Club. She was declared &#8220;Queen for a Day&#8221; through a national radio program held in Chicago in 1951. She also volunteered for Kenosha Hospital making puppets for children. She was a wonderful cook. But, she will be best remembered as a terrific mother to her two daughters and a wonderful cook.<br \/>\nIrene will be missed by her husband of 71 years, Harvey Spaulding; her two daughters, Clara (Alan) Barry and Linda Spaulding; her two grandchildren, Beth (Chad) Staus and Mike (Jackie) Barry; and her three great grandchildren, Max and Mia Barry, and Pearl Staus. Irene is further survived by her siblings, Elsie (Vern &#8211; Deceased) Squires, and Henry (Dorothy) Frederich.<br \/>\nIn addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Leona (Don) Lucas.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/piasecki-althaus.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/Irene-D.-Spaulding.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">View Archived Condolences for Irene D.
