{"id":15464,"date":"2015-03-16T06:37:51","date_gmt":"2015-03-16T11:37:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kenoshafuneralhome.com\/obituary\/mitzi-waehner\/"},"modified":"2015-03-16T06:37:51","modified_gmt":"2015-03-16T11:37:51","slug":"mitzi-waehner","status":"publish","type":"obituary","link":"https:\/\/www.kenoshafuneralhome.com\/es\/obituary\/mitzi-waehner\/","title":{"rendered":"Mitzi Waehner"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mitzi Waehner, 72, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 14, 2015, at UHS- St. Catherine\u2019s Campus.<\/p>\n<p>Mitzi was born in Milwaukee, WI, on June 2, 1942, daughter of the late Robert and Mildred (Wagner) Cox.<\/p>\n<p>She was a proud 1960 graduate of St. Joseph High School.<\/p>\n<p>On February 8, 1964, she married the love of her life, Jim Waehner, at St. Mary Catholic Church.<\/p>\n<p>She was employed at Gateway Technical College as an administrative assistant for 26 years, retiring in 2004.\u00a0 While at Gateway, she was an active member of the local AFSCME chapter.<\/p>\n<p>Mitzi was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the chair of the St. Joseph Class of 1960 reunion committee, and a former secretary of the Parkview Terrace Condominium Assoc. Board of Directors.<\/p>\n<p>Mitzi cherished her many friendships, including the \u2018Animals\u2019 social club, her St. Joe\u2019s friends, her Gateway colleagues, and her swim buddies at Diver Dan\u2019s.<\/p>\n<p>Along with her husband Jim, she is survived by her three daughters, Kristin (Jim) Harrington, Anne (Michael) Baniel, and Carrie (Dave) Rebro; her grandchildren, Samantha and Zachary Baniel; her best friend and sister, Barbara (the late Michael) Durkin, her brother Tom (Amy) Cox, and many nieces and nephews.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to her parents, Mitzi was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Cox.<\/p>\n<p><em>Mitzi\u2019s family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Chua and her staff and the ICU staff at St. Catherine\u2019s Hospital for their kind and compassionate care.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Informaci\u00f3n del servicio<\/h3>\n<p>Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 beginning with a prayer service at 10:15 a.m. at the Piasecki Althaus Funeral Home, 3720 39th Ave., Kenosha, WI.
