{"id":15371,"date":"2015-05-27T14:09:48","date_gmt":"2015-05-27T19:09:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kenoshafuneralhome.com\/obituary\/joy-bernice-snyder\/"},"modified":"2015-05-27T14:09:48","modified_gmt":"2015-05-27T19:09:48","slug":"joy-bernice-snyder","status":"publish","type":"obituary","link":"https:\/\/www.kenoshafuneralhome.com\/es\/obituary\/joy-bernice-snyder\/","title":{"rendered":"Joy Bernice  Snyder"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Joy Bernice Snyder, age 84 of Kenosha, passed away on Monday, May 25, 2015 at United Hospital System \u2013 St. Catherine\u2019s Campus.<\/p>\n<p>Born in Barton, AR on October 23, 1930, she was the daughter of the late James and Lena Lee (Hughes) Skinner.<\/p>\n<p>On September 13, 1947, she was united in marriage to Woodrow \u201cWoody\u201d Snyder in West Helena, AR. They were blessed with 65 year of marriage.\u00a0 During Woody\u2019s last years of life, Joy was his caregiver.\u00a0 Sadly Woody preceded her in death on February 12, 2013.<\/p>\n<p>Joy was born with a \u201cGreen Thumb\u201d.\u00a0 She loved all varieties of flowers and was thrilled to work as a floral designer with Luv Buds Florist.\u00a0 She was previously employed as a seamstress with Jockey International.\u00a0 Joy also was employed with Montgomery Wards as a seamstress and later became the manager of the cafe.<\/p>\n<p>She was passionate about her faith and family.\u00a0 Joy was a member of Prayer House Assembly of God Church and was active in their XYZ Group.<\/p>\n<p>Joy was very generous and selflessly devoted her life to her husband and family.\u00a0 She loved to fish and was a phenomenal seamstress and southern cook.\u00a0 Joy was known to welcome you into her home and share a hot meal and serve it with her homemade sweet tea to wash it down.<\/p>\n<p>She is survived by her three daughters, Molly Hoffman, Laura (Peter) Parcenka and Sue (Paul) Prostko all of Kenosha; her sister, Ermalene Ritacca of Kenosha; her two brothers, Earl (Ruthann) Skinner of AR and Chester (Ann) Skinner of IL; nine grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Irvin; a daughter, Lois; seven brothers; one sister; and a granddaughter, Kristy.<\/p>\n<h3>Informaci\u00f3n del servicio<\/h3>\n<p>Funeral Services will be held on Saturday May 30, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. at Prayer House Assembly of God, 1525 24th Avenue.
