Genevieve \u201cGen\u201d Mieczkowski, age 89, of Kenosha, died on Wednesday, June 10, 2015, at United Hospital System-Kenosha Campus.<\/p>\n
Born on September 10, 1925 in Kenosha, she was the daughter of the late Wallie and Mary (Laskowski) Ronzia.<\/p>\n
\u201cGen\u201d attended local schools and was a graduate of Mary D. Bradford High School. She then attended the Art Institute of Chicago.<\/p>\n
On February 15, 1947, she was united in marriage to Casimir \u201cKaz\u201d Mieczkowski at St Anthony Catholic Church. They enjoyed 51 years of marriage before Kaz died on May 3, 1998.<\/p>\n
She was employed in the art department at Samuel Lowe Company prior to her marriage. Following the birth of her children, she became a homemaker.<\/p>\n
Genevieve was a proud member of St. Mary Catholic Church for over 65 years.<\/p>\n
She was involved in all areas of crafting as well as enjoying gardening and cooking.<\/p>\n
Genevieve is survived by her two children, Daniel (Patti Pooch) Mieckowski and Diana (Mark) McCarthy; her loving granddaughter, Emma Marie McCarthy and her brother, Edward (Rita) Ronzia.<\/p>\n
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Zigmund, Walter and Bruno Grabowski and a sister, Helen in infancy.<\/p>\n
The family would like to thank \u201dDr.Mike\u201d Zeihen\u00a0 for his many years of care also the staff of Brookside Care Center \u00a0for their patience and support throughout \u00a0Genevieve\u2019s \u00a0illness.<\/p>\n

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2015. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 7400 39th Ave. Interment will follow in St. George Cemetery.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
